🎉 GOOD NEWS — Sri Lanka ETA is Now FREE for Nepali Citizens
Effective from 25 May 2026, Nepali passport holders can obtain the Sri Lanka Tourist ETA completely free of charge from the government. You must still apply for and obtain the ETA before travelling — it is not visa-free entry.

Visa Validity: 30 days
Entry: Double Entry permitted within the 30-day validity period
Government ETA Fee: FREE (children under 12 years are also eligible for a free ETA)
Processing Time: Generally 24–72 hours. We recommend applying at least 3–5 working days before departure to avoid last-minute delays.
Gomayu Service Fee:
FREE — for travellers booking a holiday package with Gomayu Holidays.
NPR 2,000 per person — for travellers applying for the ETA only, without booking a package.
GENERAL DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
01 — Valid Passport
Original passport with at least 6 months validity from your date of arrival in Sri Lanka.
02 — Passport Copy (Bio Page)
Clear scanned copy of your passport bio page.
03 — Completed Tourist ETA Application Form
Filled in accurately with your personal and travel details.
04 — Passport-Size Photos (2 copies)
Required only if applying through the Sri Lankan Embassy directly rather than the online ETA portal.
05 — Confirmed Return Air Ticket
Confirmed round-trip flight tickets to and from Sri Lanka.
06 — Hotel Reservation or Invitation Letter
Confirmed hotel booking for your stay, or an invitation letter from your host in Sri Lanka if staying with friends or family.
07 — Travel Agency Cover Letter
Required only if applying through a travel agency such as Gomayu Holidays rather than applying independently.
08 — Marriage Certificate (If Applicable)
Required for husband and wife travelling together, only if specifically requested by immigration authorities.
09 — Proof of Sufficient Funds
Immigration authorities may request proof of sufficient funds to support your stay and your onward/return journey. Carry your bank statement or sufficient funds as a precaution.
📌 IMPORTANT NOTES
01 — ETA Required Before Travel
All travellers must obtain an approved ETA before boarding their flight to Sri Lanka. Airlines may deny boarding without a valid ETA confirmation.
02 — Children Under 12
Children under 12 years of age are eligible for a free tourist ETA for up to 30 days, regardless of nationality.
03 — Stay Extension
Visitors wishing to stay beyond 30 days can apply for a visa extension in Sri Lanka by paying the applicable extension fee at the Department of Immigration and Emigration, Colombo.
04 — No Work or Business Activity
ETA holders must not engage in any paid or unpaid employment, trade, or business other than the purpose stated in the ETA, during their stay in Sri Lanka.
05 — Immigration Discretion on Arrival
Immigration officers may request supporting documents upon arrival even with an approved ETA. A valid ETA does not guarantee entry — final decision rests with the immigration officer at the port of entry.

Sri Lankan immigration authorities may request additional supporting documents at any stage of the review process or upon arrival. Please remain reachable via your registered email and phone number, and carry physical copies of key documents while travelling.
📋 IMPORTANT TERMS & CONDITIONS
01 — Visa Approval is Not Guaranteed
The decision to grant or reject an ETA, or to permit entry at the port, rests solely with Sri Lankan Immigration authorities. Gomayu Holidays facilitates the application process but has no influence over the final decision.
02 — Service Fee Structure
The Sri Lanka ETA is free of charge from the government. However, Gomayu Holidays' service fee of NPR 2,000 per person applies to travellers who apply for the ETA independently without booking a holiday package. This service fee is waived for travellers who book a complete holiday package through Gomayu Holidays. The service fee, where applicable, is non-refundable regardless of ETA approval outcome.
03 — Accurate & Original Documents Required
All documents submitted must be genuine, valid, and unaltered. Submission of fake or tampered documents may lead to rejection or future bans.
04 — Matching Details Across All Documents
All personal details must be consistent across your passport, flight tickets, hotel booking, and any other submitted documents. Any mismatch may lead to ETA rejection or denied entry.
05 — Applicant Responsibility
Gomayu Holidays is not responsible for ETA rejection or denied entry due to incorrect documents, mismatched information, or failure to carry requested supporting documents at the port of entry.
